rationalize = "rational lies"

so thats what i do. to make it all seem right. to explain to myself why i do or do not do the things seemed right. for it is all seemingly, seemingly fleet the night, seemingly fleet the night, seemingly fleet the right.

there are those that say shut the door
myself amongst in winter's roar,
this intended for others that i know
the ones that want
to shut the window

an open window lets in sound
it lets in wind that swirls around
noise, dust, cold, light
smells repulse and
in turn invite

windows hold out many things
thoughts, ideas, the smiles they bring
images trapped on the other side
cold and brittle
as the pain inside

a narcissistic view

odd the view of one within
the reality of their own making
you get what you wanted only to find
that it wasn't what you thought

you feel short-changed and lost within
the reality of your dream
alone with self and replica
the price too high for what you bought

rational talk and teacherness
together doomed to disappoint
now looking for a crutch of your own
religion and reserves overwrought

in vain you look for friends you've pushed
aside in your drive to be right
sanctimonious and correct you sit
in the empty hall of rightousness you sought
