Getting Started

He came out of the gate, hard, charging, dust and dirt spurting up behind his feet. If he was on water there would have been a rooster-tail. He broke quickly, gobbling up the dry yards, his feet pounding the dusty trail but all too soon his resolve weakened and his pace slowed.

Any of you ever been there? So determined to get it done and in the end doing very little? Sure, there are the great moments when friends and fam gather round and do the verbal back slapping...but deep down you know...that what you achieved wasn't what you set out for, no sireee.

So what do you do? Tell them the truth or keep on living the lie and letting them live it with you? I'm half in and half out of that box. And let me tell you it's no picnic. It's easier to be either a believer, (because then you can default to the great catch-all, "it's god's will") or be an atheist and believe in nothing at all. Being halfway anything is much harder than it appears at first blush. Maybe it's that way for a reason.

Maybe the hokey-pokey really is what it's all about:)
